If you have any questions about paint selection, applications, coverage, whatever it may be – our paint department definitely has the know-how!

Left to Right: Tamara, John & Becky Tamara has been with the Home Hardware family for over 19 years.  For over 9 years she has been “mixing it up” in the paint department. John has been with Rideau Lumber since 1996.  Prior to joining our "Home" family, John worked in the paint and retail business for over 20 years. Becky has returned to the paint department full-time. She has worked in the industry for over 10 years. She has worked at Rideau for 6 years.

Our paint department is pleased to provide you with the series of paint which just celebrated its 25^th anniversary!  Made by Home Hardware here in Ontario, it gives you a “no quibble guarantee” – "if you are not satisfied with the performance of this product, and providing you have followed the label instructions, return the unused portion with a proof of purchase, for full refund or replacement of product.  Guarantee does not include the cost of labour in the application  of any paint or stain."

The Designer series is our top of the line paint – 100% acrylic & specially formulated for ease of application, durability, easier flow and to resist scuffing.  Available in Suede, Silk and Matte finishes that are entirely washable.

With over 2700 colours already available – we can also colourmatch any colour you bring into us.   Our unique colourmatch system gives us the ability to store your colour, with your colour name, in your customer file – able to be retrieved with the push of a button.  This is especially beneficial to clients with large or multiple projects.

Home Fine Wood Stains - penetrates and seals as it stains, available in 10 different shades.  Comes in 250mL and 1L containers.

                                      
Minwax Wood Finish Stains - comes in 20 rich colours that highlight the wood grain.  Enhances any bare of stripped wood.  Available in 236 mL and 946mL containers.

Minwax Gel Stains - this is a non-drip stain that adds natural colour.  Ideal for vertical applications.  Comes in 8 different colours, in 236mL containers.
         

Flecto Varathane Gel Stains - a low odour, dripless stain that comes in 11 colours.  This is the only stain that we have that you can use on a composite door.  Available in 236mL and 946mL containers.  
                

                                       
Varathane Premium Wood Stains - "New Soya Oil vs. Linseed"

Wood Shield Best 100% Exterior Acrylic is a premium solid hide stain, formulated to provide maximum protection on exterior wood.  For use on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.  Can be tinted to any colour. Wood Shield Semi-Transparent Stain - Available in oil and latex bases.  Can be mixed in many different shades to add colour and life to your wood products. 

Wood Shield Exterior Oil Stain Deck & Siding - A solid colour stain, that comes in ready mix colours (White, Cedar, Redwood, Walnut) or we can colour match any colour you may have.

Wood Shield Solid Colour Latex Stain - This is a 100% acrylic stain - great for fences and siding.  Can be colour-matched, making it available in any colour you would like!

For your floor refinishing needs, we have two techniques to offer:

Flecto Renewal Wood Floor Restoring System - an easy, 3 step, non-sanding process to restore your dull, old floor finish.  Available in Satin and Semi-Gloss.

We also have an orbital sander available for rental at $ 39.99 per day.  As well: sandpaper - from 24 to 100 grit.
